In the first half of 2026, courts in Uzbekistan reviewed 2,018 criminal cases related to violence and harassment against women. These cases involved 2,480 individuals, according to data from the Supreme Court.
Guilty verdicts were handed down in 1,215 cases against 1,624 individuals.
Among those convicted, 84 people were under the age of 18, 597 were aged 18 to 30, 893 were aged 31 to 60, and 50 were over 60. Unemployed individuals accounted for 1,165 of those convicted.
The number of women recognized as victims in criminal cases of violence and harassment from January to June totaled 2,146.
Of these, 581 women were under the age of 18, 654 were aged 18 to 30, 870 were aged 31 to 60, and 41 were over 60.
The data presented by the Supreme Court shows the number of criminal cases reviewed by the courts in the first half of the year, rather than the total number of instances of violence and harassment against women in Uzbekistan.
