In Uzbekistan, benefits are being introduced for water-based tourist facilities

In Uzbekistan, incentives are being introduced for waterfront tourist sites
Entrepreneurs in Uzbekistan developing tourism at reservoirs and adjacent areas will have their taxes reduced and will be granted a deferral on customs payments. These incentives will remain in effect until October 1, 2029.
The corresponding decision is enshrined in a presidential decree dated October 27, 2026.
For legal entities, the land tax and property tax rates will be set at 50% of the current levels. In addition, customs payments can be deferred or paid in installments for up to 120 days when importing GPS equipment for water transport, life-saving and protective gear, as well as modern sanitary and hygienic modules.
Along with the incentives, strict safety and environmental requirements are being introduced. Tourist sites must be equipped with the necessary means to protect visitors, and for emergency situations, they must establish their own rescue service or enter into an agreement with professional rescuers.
Entrepreneurs will also have to comply with the rules for operating small craft and their mooring sites, and additionally equip facilities with internal sewerage and local treatment facilities. The discharge of untreated wastewater into water bodies is prohibited, and household waste must be disposed of in accordance with established procedures.
Earlier, a new body of water appeared in the Peshku district of the Bukhara region, causing a wide public response. Scientists from the Hydrometeorological Research Institute studied it and explained its origin.
