Net profit of banks in Uzbekistan increased by 68 percent in one year
The net profit of banks in Uzbekistan increased by 5 trillion soums in one year, growing by 68 percent. This was reported by the Central Bank.
In January–July 2026, the net profit of commercial banks in the country reached 12.33 trillion soums. This figure was 7.33 trillion soums in the same period of 2025.
According to the analysis, the main source of income for banks is formed from interest on allocated loans. In particular, seven-month interest income amounted to 84.4 trillion soums (71.4 trillion soums a year earlier). Meanwhile, interest expenses equaled 60.8 trillion soums (49.8 trillion soums a year ago). The interest margin amounted to 23.6 trillion soums.
It is noted that in January–July, the non-interest income of banks reached 61.5 trillion soums (an annual increase of 20 trillion soums). Non-interest expenses amounted to 20.3 trillion soums.
As of August 1, 2026, the volume of deposits in banks reached 482.7 trillion soums. This figure was 360.4 trillion soums in the corresponding period of 2025. As a result, the annual amount increased by more than nearly 122 trillion soums, or by 34 percent. The loan balance allocated by the banking system amounted to 644.6 trillion soums, increasing by 68.4 trillion soums compared to a year earlier.
