Uzbekistan is considering changing the scoring system for applicants with national certificates. Deputy Minister of Higher Education, Science, and Innovation Sardor Rajabov reported that the current mechanism is under review.

In the future, holding a national certificate may no longer automatically guarantee applicants the highest score upon admission.

The reason for these changes is the steady increase in the number of certificate holders. In some specialties, this means that after the maximum scores for this category of applicants are allocated, significantly fewer places remain for other applicants.

The Ministry of Higher Education notes that the number of applicants with national certificates is increasing annually. Therefore, it plans to adapt the current system to the current situation.

The specific details of the new rules and the timing of their implementation are not currently being disclosed.
