In Uzbekistan, an inspection of taxi aggregators has been launched against the backdrop of a sharp rise in prices
The Competition Committee of Uzbekistan has begun studying taxi aggregators' tariffs and potential signs of unfair competition. This was prompted by user complaints regarding a manifold increase in trip prices during peak hours amid technical disruptions at major services.
As part of the inspection, the committee will assess how justified the tariff increase is, as well as whether the requirements of competition legislation are being observed.
Aggregators were advised to review their trip cost calculation algorithms, resolve disruptions when transferring money to drivers, and unblock drivers who were blocked without grounds. In addition, they were required to recalculate and pay out the bonuses due for completed orders.
The services must also provide 24/7 technical support for drivers and passengers. If violations are identified, the committee promises to conduct an investigation and take measures provided for by law.
