Starting from 2027, 73 types of medicines will be provided free of charge in Uzbekistan. As noted in the article, these measures were announced during President Shavkat Mirziyoyev's meeting with representatives of the healthcare and pharmaceutical sectors.
The changes are aimed at expanding primary healthcare for the population, early detection of diseases, and reducing treatment-related expenses.
As part of the reforms, the operations of family polyclinics will be improved, and new laboratories will be established. Enhancing the qualifications of doctors and nurses is also envisaged. Throughout 2027, the new system is planned to be implemented in an additional 15 districts.
Programs for the early detection of cancer and cardiovascular diseases will also be expanded. Through this, the goal is to reduce premature deaths caused by diseases by 15 percent. 200 billion sums will be allocated for the implementation of the program.
Special attention will be paid to the widespread implementation of the principle "From treatment to prevention" in the healthcare system. At the same time, measures will be taken to improve the quality of service, patient safety, and compliance with sanitary requirements in medical institutions.
To incentivize medical workers, "Best Doctor" and "Best Nurse" contests will be organized. Winners will receive cash prizes in the amount of 100 million sums, and in 2027, the winners of the regional stage are planned to be rewarded with electric vehicles.
