In the Andijan region, 98 investment projects have been launched, and the construction of another 108 facilities has begun, with a total value of $9.4 billion. During their implementation, it is planned to create more than 45,000 new jobs, the presidential press service reports.
Shavkat Mirziyoyev took part in the ceremony to launch the projects and start the new construction during his trip to the region.
Of the 206 projects, 98 have already been put into operation. Their total cost is $2.05 billion. Another 108 projects worth $7.35 billion have moved to the construction stage.
The projects cover energy, industry, textiles, mechanical engineering, pharmaceuticals, tourism, logistics, education, and healthcare. They are being implemented in all 16 cities and districts of the region.
Among the already launched production facilities are a cotton-textile cluster, enterprises for the production of electric buses, solar panels, and equipment for small hydropower. Modern educational and medical centers have also begun operation.
Among the new facilities are international logistics and tourism centers, hydroelectric power plants, residential complexes, and waste-to-energy plants. In addition, there are plans to establish production facilities for vehicles and freight cars.
It is expected that after the implementation of all projects, the annual production volume in the region will reach 60.6 trillion soums, and the export potential will amount to $533 million.
