In Tashkent Region, residents of a mahalla sent a collective appeal to the khokim

Residents of the "Mustaqillik" mahalla in the Srednechirchik district of the Tashkent region have sent a collective appeal to the regional khokim Zoir Mirzaev, deputies, and the road safety department. The reason for the appeal was the closure of the U-turn at the 10th kilometer of the A-373 highway, which has caused serious difficulties for local residents and drivers.
According to residents' estimates, after the U-turn was closed, vehicles have to make an additional detour of about 7.3 kilometers. This leads to unnecessary fuel consumption, additional financial costs, loss of time, and complicates entry and exit from the mahalla. In addition, citizens pointed out the risks for pedestrians at the exit from Ilgor Street, where some drivers do not yield the right of way, creating a threat to children and the elderly.
In this regard, residents are asking the responsible organizations to visit the site and study the situation, clarify the legal and technical grounds for closing the U-turn, and consider the possibility of reopening it in compliance with safety requirements. As an alternative, citizens propose installing a traffic light in this section, equipping a safe pedestrian crossing, and placing the necessary road signs.
