In Tashkent pharmacies, multiple overpricings of medicines have been detected

Pharmacies in Tashkent found to be inflating drug prices multiple times over
In a number of pharmacies in Tashkent, medicines were being sold at prices several times higher than the established limit values. The violations were uncovered by specialists from the Competition Committee during "mystery shopper" inspections.
For instance, at the Shunqorlar pharmacy, "Polymyk" was sold for 70,000 soums instead of 12,800, and "Convulex" for 395,000 against the norm of 66,400. At Muno Farm, "Stimuloton" tablets cost 295,000, while the permitted price was 50,600.
At Amir Farm Trade, "Baktamed" was offered for 32,000 instead of 18,800, while in the City Farm chain, the same drug was sold for 63,000 — 3.3 times more expensive. At Hosil Farm, "Lantus" cost 190,000 against the norm of 115,000, and "Slideron" was 349,000 instead of 115,600 — approximately three times more expensive.
Following the inspection, the committee issued directives and forwarded the materials to the authorized bodies for license reviews. The agency emphasized that inspections will continue, and the "mystery shopper" method will become a regular tool for price control.
Previously, more than 2,500 pharmacies had already been penalized for price gouging, and over 21 billion soums were returned to consumers.
