In Tashkent, an actor's family faced a demand for $300 to extend their daughter's disability status.

A nurse from a family clinic in Tashkent's Sergeli district demanded $300 to formalize disability status for the minor daughter of actor and blogger Musulmon Yunusov. The actor himself announced this in a public appeal to Shakhnoza Mirziyoyeva, First Deputy Director of the National Agency for Social Protection. He asked her to personally oversee the situation and conduct an investigation into the actions of district agencies.

According to Yunusov, his wife received the request for money in late May or early June, after the documents were submitted to the Medical and Labor Expert Commission of the Sergeli District. The actor claims the funds were demanded to extend the child's disability status until she reaches 18 and to officially appoint the mother as her caregiver.

Yunusov emphasized that the issue isn't the amount he might be able to find, but rather the fact that many families with disabled children cannot afford such expenses.

The child was later granted disability status, but her mother was not designated as her caregiver. The girl's father noted that she is unable to care for herself and requires constant assistance.

In his appeal, the actor called for an investigation to determine whether other families are experiencing similar extortion when applying for disability status for their children.

Yunusov's statement has not yet been officially confirmed. The circumstances of the incident will be determined by the competent authorities.
