A batch of European drugs worth $780,000, hidden in boxing equipment, has been seized in Tashkent
Employees of the "Tashkent-Aero" customs complex, together with the State Security Service (SSS) of Uzbekistan, have disrupted an international drug smuggling channel from Europe. Eight kilograms of narcotics with a total value of approximately $780,000 were seized from illicit circulation.
The drugs entered the country from Germany in international courier mail shipments. For concealed transportation, the perpetrators used sports equipment — punching bags and boxing gloves.
The first shipment containing 4 kilograms of substances (3 kg of synthetic "clephedrone" and 1 kg of hashish) was intercepted at the customs post. On September 3, a 25-year-old citizen of Montenegro was detained in the Yakkasaray district of Tashkent while receiving the shipment.
During the investigation, it was established that the detainee acted under the instructions of a handler using the pseudonym "Mike" on the Signal messenger. Previously, the suspect had already been involved in large-scale drug smuggling in Kazakhstan and Georgia.
During a search of his rented apartment, operatives found 11 prepared packages containing the synthetic drug α-PVP with a total weight of 30 grams, zip-lock packaging bags, and electronic scales.
In the course of further operational-search activities, law enforcement agencies discovered that a similar shipment from Germany was on its way, addressed to the detainee's brother. On September 8, 2026, the second postal shipment was successfully intercepted — it also contained 4 kilograms of "clephedrone" and hashish.
In total, as a result of the special operation, 6 kg of "clephedrone" and 2 kg of hashish were seized. According to expert estimates, this batch corresponds to 45,000 single doses that did not reach the black market.
The customs authorities of Uzbekistan have initiated a criminal case regarding this fact.
