In Tashkent, the importation from China of 24 kg 974 g of pregabalin — a potent substance — was stopped. Two men were detained while receiving the parcel at the office of a courier company. This was reported by the State Security Service of Uzbekistan.
According to the agency, one of the detainees was born in 2000 and resides in the Yunusabad district. His acquaintance was born in 1998 in the Fergana region and temporarily lived in the Chilanzar district.
During the inspection of the shipment, officers discovered a white powder. An examination showed that it was pregabalin.
Criminal proceedings have been initiated against the detainees under Part 1 of Article 246 of the Criminal Code. The court selected a preventive measure in the form of custody for them. Investigative actions are ongoing.
