In the Chilanzar district of Tashkent, a manager of a travel agency was detained on suspicion of illegally assisting a citizen of Uzbekistan in securing employment in Slovakia. This was reported by the State Security Service (SSS) of Uzbekistan.
The operational event was conducted by officers of the SSS Department for the city of Tashkent in cooperation with the Department for Combating Economic Crimes.
According to the SSS, the detainee worked as a manager at a local travel company that did not have the right to engage in the employment of citizens abroad. The man was detained with physical evidence at the moment of receiving a portion of the funds.
It was established that the manager had requested $3,000 and 2.5 million soums from a resident of the Samarkand region for assistance in securing employment in Slovakia and obtaining a visa.
Law enforcement officers detained him while he was receiving $1,000 and 2.5 million soums.
A criminal case has been initiated against the detainee. An investigation is underway.
The SSS urged citizens to report such violations of the law by calling the short number 1520. The agency emphasized that the confidentiality of the applicants' identity is guaranteed.
