In Tashkent, a man is suspected of abusing a minor with whom he lived in a religious marriage

In the Almazar district of Tashkent, law enforcement agencies are investigating a report of abuse against a teenage girl who lived with a man in a religious marriage. According to preliminary data, he used physical force against her and committed acts of a sexual nature, causing her injuries.

According to the National Agency for Social Protection, on August 28, 2025, the man entered into a religious marriage with the girl. After that, they began living together.

Currently, officers of the Almazar district Department of Internal Affairs are conducting a pre-investigation probe. A legal assessment of the incident will be provided once all circumstances are established.

The day before, specialists from the "Inson" social services center and Department of Internal Affairs officers met with the girl and her aunt. Currently, the main task is to ensure the safety of the minor, protect her rights, and help stabilize her psychological state.

In addition, a protection order was issued for the girl to protect her from harassment and repeated abuse.

The National Agency for Social Protection assured that the situation remains under control, and the necessary support measures are being taken regarding the minor.

Earlier, another high-profile case occurred in the Andijan region: a man in a religious marriage brutally killed his disabled wife.
