Operational measures against the illicit trafficking of narcotic substances were carried out in Chilonzor, Yunusobod, Yangihayot, Bektemir, and other districts of Tashkent.
During the operations, it was established that a 3rd-year student of a prestigious higher education institution worked as a "cladman" (courier) for an online drug store. When the Onix vehicle he was driving was stopped and searched at a checkpoint in the Yangihayot district, 500 grams of the synthetic drug Alpha-PVP hidden in the cabin was found.
During subsequent operational-search activities, 7 warehouse keepers of the transnational criminal association in Uzbekistan, 6 "zakladchik" (drop-off couriers) who worked for them, and one of the leaders of the association were detained. It was also reported that another leader of the association was detained in a foreign country.
A total of 14 individuals were detained, and 2 kilograms 500 grams of the synthetic drug Alpha-PVP, equivalent to 71,433 single doses, was seized in accordance with procedural order. In connection with the situation, a criminal case has been initiated under Article 273, Part 5 of the Criminal Code, and a precautionary measure of detention has been applied to the suspects.
Currently, criminal cases have been initiated against the drug traffickers in all three cases.
