In the Denov district of Surxondaryo region, a court verdict has been handed down to five individuals who, acting as a group, beat a 32-year-old man to death over a property dispute. They were sentenced to prison terms ranging from 4 to 9 years.

According to the case documents reviewed by the Denov District Criminal Court, the incident occurred on April 27. A 37-year-old citizen, along with four other acquaintances, arrived at a car wash in Lacetti and Nexia vehicles. They intended to settle scores with their acquaintance over an ongoing property dispute.

The group members beat the acquaintance with their hands and feet on various parts of his body in front of his father. They then forced him into the Lacetti car and took him to the Uzun district area. There, the violence against him continued.

Later, the victim was left at the emergency medical department of the Denov District Medical Association. Despite receiving medical assistance from doctors, he passed away on April 28.

Additionally, during a search conducted on April 28 at the residence of one of the defendants, marijuana residues were found in his clothing pockets, as well as marijuana and opium residues inside four matchboxes.

Applying Article 59 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Uzbekistan (Sentencing for commission of multiple crimes) to partially combine the sentences, the court sentenced one of the defendants to 9 years of imprisonment. Among the remaining defendants, one was sentenced to 8 years and 6 months, another to 8 years and 10 months, and two others to 4 years of imprisonment.

The regional Department of Internal Affairs stated that the incident occurred following a dispute over a monetary transaction. It was reported that the 30-year-old man, who sustained severe bodily injuries, died on April 28. Following this, a criminal case was initiated under Article 104, Part 2, Paragraphs "k" and "ye" of the Criminal Code (Intentional infliction of grievous bodily injury by a group of persons out of hooliganism), and four individuals were taken into custody.
