In seven months, Uzbekistan produced pharmaceutical products worth 3.5 trillion soums — statistics

Uzbekistan has significantly increased the production of medicines and other pharmaceutical products. During January-July 2026, the country's enterprises produced basic pharmaceutical products and preparations worth 3.5 trillion soums — this is 20.7% more than in the same period last year.

According to the National Statistics Committee, almost two-thirds of the country's total pharmaceutical production volume in the seven months was accounted for by Tashkent: products worth 2.1 trillion soums were produced in the capital.

In the Syrdarya region, the production volume amounted to 529 billion soums, in the Tashkent region — 286.4 billion soums, in the Namangan region — 214.2 billion soums. In the Samarkand region, products worth 143.1 billion soums were produced, in the Andijan region — 83.6 billion soums, and in the Fergana region — 63.5 billion soums.

In the Surkhandarya region, the production volume reached 53.7 billion soums, in the Khorezm region — 20.6 billion soums, in the Kashkadarya region — 17.4 billion soums. In the Bukhara region, pharmaceutical products worth 9.4 billion soums were produced, in Karakalpakstan — 3.5 billion soums.

The lowest volumes were recorded in the Navoiy and Jizzakh regions — 0.2 and 0.1 billion soums, respectively.

In the second quarter of 2026, the Committee for Competition Promotion and Consumer Protection identified hundreds of cases of overpricing of medicines. The cost of purchases was recalculated for consumers by 1.9 billion soums.
