In Uzbekistan's schools, students' backpacks are being checked for vapes. Video

In Uzbekistan's schools, checks of students' backpacks and personal belongings are being conducted, during which vapes are being found on schoolchildren. The Prosecutor's Office has officially reported on these preventive measures and published a video of one of the checks.

Prevention inspectors can enter classrooms, inspect students' bags, and conduct preventive talks with them. Such events are organized as part of the prevention of juvenile delinquency.

The Prosecutor's Office reminded that vapes are banned in Uzbekistan. Possession of two or more electronic cigarettes carries a fine of 100 to 200 basic calculation values (BCV) with confiscation of the devices. Given the current size of the BCV, the fine amount ranges from 44 to 88 million soums.

For possession of a single electronic cigarette for personal use, a fine of one BCV — 440,000 soums — may be applied.

The Prosecutor's Office emphasized that preventive checks and talks with students are conducted to prevent offenses.
