In Nukus, 22 gas filling stations were fined

The Competition Promotion and Consumer Protection Committee of Uzbekistan reported that financial fines have been imposed on 22 gas filling stations in Karakalpakstan for anti-competitive concerted (coordinated) actions.

22 CNG stations fined in Nukus

According to the agency, the reason for the inspection was a citizen's complaint, after which pricing at 22 compressed natural gas (CNG) filling stations in Nukus was examined. It turned out that at these stations, 1 cubic meter of compressed gas was simultaneously sold at a price exceeding the current rate by up to 1,050 soums on average.

As reported by the committee, the Special Commission of the Committee of the Republic of Karakalpakstan opened cases against these economic entities for anti-competitive coordinated actions provided for in Article 19 of the Law "On Competition." It is noted that based on the results of the case review, a decision was made to impose a financial fine in accordance with the established procedure. In addition, mandatory instructions were issued to eliminate the identified violations and prevent similar cases in the future.

According to the agency, nine entities that disagreed with the decision of the Special Commission appealed to the court; the court once again confirmed the legality of the committee's decisions.
