In Navoiy, the head of a private enterprise, who was sentenced to 8 years in prison for fraud, has faced court again.

In the Navoiy region, the head of a private enterprise, who had been sentenced to 8 years of deprivation of liberty for the crime of fraud, was tried again in connection with another episode involving three victims.

It was established that M.O., born in 2001, while managing a private enterprise belonging to him, promised citizens to multiply their money through trading and generate income. However, such a type of activity was not provided for in the enterprise's charter, and there was no corresponding license for it. The funds attracted from citizens were spent on personal needs.

One of the victims, B.Sh., heard about M.O. from a neighbor in the summer of 2023 and went to the office in the city of Zarafshan. There, the woman was offered to earn income through trading, and a formal contract was concluded. B.Sh. initially gave 11 million soums. Shortly after, seeing messages in a Telegram group about payments being made to other citizens, she handed over another 47 million soums. However, within the specified period, neither the income was paid nor the principal money was returned. Later, when the woman went to the office, the building was closed, and M.O. did not answer calls. After that, she turned to law enforcement agencies.

It was established that among those who suffered from M.O.'s deception was also his relative. The victim gave him a total of 13.5 thousand dollars at various times. He even sold a one-room apartment in the city of Navoiy and gave the resulting 307 million soums to M.O. The court assessed the damage caused in this case at 465 million 841 thousand soums.

The third victim borrowed 5 thousand dollars from an acquaintance and, despite the acquaintance's warning that "this could be a scam," handed the funds over to M.O. and received a contract stamped with the enterprise's seal in return. The court determined this loan amount as a damage of 58 million 830 thousand soums.

The total amount of material damage caused to these three victims amounted to 582 million 671 thousand soums.

It was revealed that at the time this criminal case was being heard, M.O. was in prison for another crime. By the verdict of the Zarafshan City Court on Criminal Cases dated April 22, 2025, he had been sentenced to 8 years of deprivation of liberty for fraud. The circumstances considered in this trial had been committed before that verdict. With a part of the punishment from the previous verdict added, he was sentenced to a final punishment of 9 years of deprivation of liberty. The court also ruled that material damage be recovered from M.O. in favor of the three victims.
