“In migration, we need quality, not numbers!” — President

Shavkat Mirziyoyev is holding a meeting dedicated to labor migration issues.

In the international labor market, major recruiting companies have become an important link between employers and qualified specialists.

It is necessary to create conditions for such companies in Uzbekistan as well to train specialists themselves and directly place them in jobs. The task has been set to launch the activities of two major international recruiting companies in our country next year.

This year, there are opportunities to employ 287,000 people in 34 countries. However, people are not sufficiently informed about these opportunities, and communication between the Migration Agency and the “mahalla seven” has not been effectively established either.

“Therefore, we will change this system as well. In migration, we need quality, not numbers!”, the president said.

Information about jobs abroad should reach every mahalla. The president set the task of clearly indicating for each order which country requires what kind of specialist, where training is needed, and which language must be known.

The “mahalla seven” will explain these opportunities to citizens wishing to work abroad and enter the candidates into the “Online Mahalla” platform. Khokims and responsible organizations will be accountable for targeted professional and language training of these candidates, followed by their placement in jobs.

Regional khokims will review work results once a month, and district khokims twice a month, with the participation of migration officials and the “seven”. Strict control will be established over the training and job placement of each candidate.

As the president emphasized, an agreement with employers alone is not enough to open high-income jobs abroad. Active economic diplomacy must be conducted with developed countries, consistently resolving issues regarding quotas, work visas, and the recognition of qualifications.
