In Kegeyli, a greenhouse complex has provided permanent jobs for 50 families

In the Kegeyli district of Karakalpakstan, a greenhouse complex has begun operations, providing permanent jobs for 50 families from the Social Register. President Shavkat Mirziyoyev visited the complex to inspect its activities.

A total of 12.5 billion soums in concessional funds was allocated for the construction of the 5-hectare greenhouse complex. Each family participating in the project was allocated 10 blocks (1,000 square meters) of greenhouse space.

For two years, an entrepreneur assigned to the complex as a project leader will train the participants in modern greenhouse farming methods and help them acquire practical skills. In the future, the families will be able to establish their own greenhouse farms on their household plots.

The entrepreneur undertakes to purchase the grown produce from the participants at market prices.

There are also plans to train up to 1,000 people annually in modern greenhouse and agricultural methods at the complex.

An additional direction of the project is duck breeding. A nearby 350-meter canal accommodates 500 birds. Each participating family was provided with 10 "Favorit" breed breeding ducks imported from Brazil.

To reduce electricity costs, solar panels with a total capacity of 100 kW have been installed on the territory of the complex. According to the project, the electricity they generate is sufficient for the daily needs of the greenhouse facility.
