Poultry complex in Karakalpakstan sent $1.1 million worth of products to Afghanistan

A poultry complex in the Kegeyli district of Karakalpakstan has begun supplying its products to Afghanistan. Since the beginning of the year, the export volume has reached 1.1 million dollars, and by the end of the year, it is planned to increase it to 1.5 million dollars.

President Shavkat Mirziyoyev got acquainted with the work of the "Kegeyli baraka naslli parranda" enterprise during his trip to Karakalpakstan.

The 21-hectare complex was built under the presidential decree of June 28, 2024. The investment volume in the project amounted to 7.8 million dollars. After the launch of the enterprise, 70 local residents were provided with permanent jobs.

The production capacity of the complex allows for the simultaneous keeping of up to 200 thousand chickens. Currently, 130 thousand birds are being raised at the enterprise. Annually, 27.5 million hatching eggs are produced here, from which chicks and young poultry are subsequently raised.

Own feed is produced for the poultry on the territory of the complex. The compound feed plant is designed for 100 tons per day, with all production processes being automated.

The emergence of a large enterprise has also changed the product supply system in the region. Previously, chicken meat and eggs were imported to Karakalpakstan from other regions, but now local production meets the region's needs and allows for exporting products abroad.

As production expands, export volumes are also planned to increase. By the end of the year, the enterprise expects to bring supplies to Afghanistan to 1.5 million dollars.

In addition, by the end of the year, another poultry farm with an area of 8.5 hectares is planned to be launched in the Kegeyli district. The cost of the new project will be 5 million dollars. It is expected to increase production and create additional jobs.

Shavkat Mirziyoyev instructed to further develop such enterprises and unite them into large poultry holdings, creating new and high-paying jobs.
