Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — On August 11, Fergana Region Governor Khairullo Bazarov reviewed business projects planned for the Baghdad district. More than $10 million will be invested in these projects, which will create over 300 jobs, according to the Fergana Region Khokimiyat.
The projects will be located on the territory of the Khazini Machine and Tractor Park. Specifically, the Kuva Textile company plans to build a cotton gin and a knitwear factory on the site of a former airfield.
The regional governor also reviewed a presentation of 15 livestock projects. The Ziroatchi Mustafokul farm plans to build a complex for 2,000 head of cattle. Four more farms intend to build facilities each with a capacity of 1,000 head of cattle. In the Oydinbulok mahalla, entrepreneur Bakhodir Mustafokulov has already begun implementing a project designed to raise 1,000 head of cattle and 100 horses.
Bazarov instructed that livestock projects be organized using modern approaches and technologies. According to the objectives presented, special attention should be paid to improving breeding qualities and increasing livestock productivity.
In the Irgoli mahalla, the regional khokim (mayor) reviewed efforts to specialize the area, reduce poverty, and create employment. Approximately 50 local households are planned to be involved in tulip cultivation.
In the first stage, 10 households were selected under the "Every Family Entrepreneur" program, which have already begun growing flowers. Subsequently, plans are to utilize 250 local greenhouses for hydroponic flower cultivation.
According to estimates, growing Dutch tulips can generate up to 280-300 million soums in income per 100 square meters of land. The mahalla also plans to establish specialized warehouses for storing produce, a laboratory, and a training center for florists.
Bazarov also visited a sewing workshop in the mahalla, which provides jobs for 20 local women.
The regional governor expressed his readiness to support initiatives aimed at effectively utilizing local potential, creating new sources of income, and providing employment, including for women.
