The administration of the East Kazakhstan region has advised civil servants not to show off expensive purchases and luxury items on social networks. This was reported on the official website of the regional administration.
"Civil servants should take into account that displaying expensive items, luxury goods, vacations, and other material benefits on social networks in the absence of a clear legal source of income for such purchases may raise reasonable questions among citizens and negatively affect the reputation of a civil servant," the administration's statement reads.
Civil servants were also advised not to use social networks to advertise and promote goods, services, or commercial activities if this contradicts the requirements of the legislation on civil service and anti-corruption.
In addition, it was emphasized that they should refrain from posts that could be interpreted as using their official position, state symbols, or state agency resources for personal gain.
