In Guzar, 22 school children were poisoned as a result of chemicals sprayed on cotton
In the Guzar district of Qashqadaryo, 22 students from a school located near a field were hospitalized after being poisoned by chemicals sprayed on cotton. Currently, 15 of them have been discharged home, while 7 people continue to receive treatment. A criminal case has been initiated regarding the incident.

The Ministry of Internal Affairs reported that 22 high school students from school No. 51 in the Guzar district of the Qashqadaryo region suffered from airborne chemical poisoning.
The incident occurred on September 23 at around 11:45 AM. After the school's 10th and 11th-grade students experienced symptoms such as nausea and headaches, they were taken to the district medical association. They were initially diagnosed with "gastric dyspepsia syndrome."
According to the investigation, there are cotton fields belonging to the "Shoxmalik Shermurod o'g'li" farm adjacent to the "Yangiobod" neighborhood where the school is located, 20 hectares of which are situated directly around the school.
According to preliminary data, at around 09:00 AM on that day, the farm sprayed a chemical agent named "Agro Augron" on the field to ensure the early ripening of the cotton. The students were poisoned as a result of this agent spreading through the air.
Following medical assistance provided by doctors, 15 students whose conditions improved were discharged home. Currently, another 7 students continue to receive inpatient treatment at the district medical association.
A criminal case has been initiated regarding the situation under Part 1 of Article 201 of the Criminal Code (Violation of environmental pollution or discharge of harmful substances rules).
Relevant examinations have been ordered, and preliminary investigation actions are currently being conducted by the Investigation Department of the Qashqadaryo Region Police Headquarters, the report says.
