In Bukhara, the possibility of creating toll roads to tourist sites will be studied
Shavkat Mirziyoyev instructed to attract private investment for road repairs in the Bukhara region, accelerate the delivery of buses, and speed up infrastructure development.

In the Bukhara region, there are plans to study the feasibility of constructing toll roads that will connect tourist sites. President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev gave this instruction on November 4 during a meeting dedicated to the comprehensive development of the region.
Issues regarding road infrastructure, public transport, and public utilities were raised at the meeting. Since the beginning of 2026, 900 billion soums have been allocated for the improvement of the region's roads. At the same time, problems with traffic jams, road safety, and the organization of passenger transportation persist.
As noted at the meeting, about 2,000 km of roads and 266 bridges in the region require repairs. The president emphasized the need to attract private capital to upgrade the infrastructure and instructed officials to work out options for creating toll highways between tourist attractions.
Special attention was paid to public transport. Due to the underdeveloped route network, approximately 80% of the region's residents use personal cars to commute to work, school, and for daily errands. In this regard, the task was set to accelerate the delivery of 120 buses to the region.
The president also instructed to improve the quality of passenger and tourist services at the Bukhara airport and railway stations, noting the importance of these facilities for guests' first impressions of the region.
In addition, it is necessary to solve the problem of the lack of centralized water supply in 55 mahallas of the region. The responsible departments were instructed to determine specific deadlines for the construction and commissioning of water supply networks.
Among other tasks are the selection of trees taking into account the local climate and the historical appearance of Bukhara, as well as the implementation of a unified approach to the greening and landscaping of roadside areas.
The head of state also demanded that the construction of residential areas for families in need of better housing conditions be accelerated.
