In August 2026, monthly inflation in Uzbekistan amounted to 0.2 percent, and the annual price growth was 6.2 percent. This was reported by the Statistics Committee.

Last month, food products became more expensive by 0.4 percent, non-food goods by 0.2 percent, and services by 0.1 percent.

Within a month, the price of carrots increased by 9.2 percent, onions by 6.2 percent, and rice by 2.2 percent. Buckwheat became more expensive by 1.1 percent, and eggs by 0.8 percent. The price of flour rose by 0.5 percent, mutton by 0.7 percent, and the value of boneless beef by 0.7 percent.

The committee noted that seasonal factors influenced the changes in fruit and vegetable prices. In particular, within a month, grapes became more expensive by 10.9 percent, bell peppers by 9.2 percent, and apples by 7.2 percent. The price of citrus fruits increased by 1.6 percent, and the value of watermelon by 7.5 percent.

Meanwhile, a decrease was observed in some products. In particular, chicken meat became cheaper by 0.7 percent, sugar by 0.6 percent, milk by 0.3 percent, and cottonseed oil by 0.1 percent. The price of pears fell by 6 percent, eggplants by 5.5 percent, cabbage by 4.9 percent, and the value of potatoes by 3.3 percent.

In August, gasoline prices increased by an average of 1.9 percent. The price growth varied depending on the fuel grades. For example, AI-92 gasoline became more expensive by 1.1 percent, AI-95 grade by 4.9 percent, and AI-98 and AI-100 grade gasolines by 6.7 percent. While the price of propane increased by 5.8 percent during the month, it rose by nearly 41.4 percent on an annual basis.

Last month, medicines became cheaper by 0.2 percent.

In August, residential rents increased by 0.4 percent, and the prices of home maintenance, repair, and security services rose by 0.3 percent. Airfare tariffs increased by 0.1 percent on domestic flights and by 1.7 percent on international flights.

"This is related to the increase in fuel prices and the fluctuation of the euro against the soum," the Stat Committee explained the situation.

In August, the price of intercity passenger transport rose by an average of 0.6 percent. At the same time, private kindergartens became more expensive by 0.3 percent, tutoring by 0.2 percent, and tuition fees for foreign language courses by 0.1 percent.

In Uzbekistan, the annual inflation rate in July was 6.4 percent. The annual price growth rate in August 2025 was 8.8 percent.
