Ilgiz Tantashev and Asker Najafaliyev will work as head referees at the 2027 Asian Cup

A record number of refereeing teams will operate at the AFC Asian Cup, which will be held in January and February 2027. For the first time, 76 referees — head referees, assistants, supervisors, and VAR referees — will work at the tournament. This was announced by the Asian Football Confederation.

Among the referees invited to this tournament are also representatives of Uzbekistan. In particular, Ilgiz Tantashev and Asker Najafaliyev will officiate Asian Cup matches as head referees.

Timur Gaynullin, Andrey Tsapenko, and Bakhtiyorkhoja Shavkatov will serve as assistant referees. Meanwhile, Firdavs Norsagarov will travel to the tournament as a VAR referee.

Additionally, another specialist from Uzbekistan, Valentin Kovalenko, has been invited to the Asian Cup as a supervisor.

The Asian Cup will take place in Saudi Arabia from January 7 to February 5. The Uzbekistan national team is placed in Group B of the tournament and will play against Bahrain, North Korea, and Jordan to advance from the group.
