Uzbekistan to Host AFC U-17 Asian Cup in 2027

The AFC Executive Committee has selected Uzbekistan to host the 2027 AFC U-17 Asian Cup and approved changes to the regulations governing its club and youth competitions.

Uzbekistan has been chosen to host the AFC U-17 Asian Cup in 2027, as announced by the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) Executive Committee. This decision was reached during the committee's most recent gathering.

During the same meeting, Saudi Arabia was confirmed as the host nation for the 2029 AFC U-17 Asian Cup.

Furthermore, Japan was selected to organize the 2028 AFC U-23 Asian Cup. This particular tournament will function as the Asian qualifying event for the 2028 Summer Olympic Games, which are scheduled to take place in Los Angeles.

The committee also endorsed revisions to the rules governing the AFC's club and youth tournaments. Starting with the 2026/27 season, the AFC Champions League Elite will adopt a new structure, expanding to include 32 teams.

These modifications will also impact the qualification process for the AFC U-20 Asian Cup.
