High-speed electric train service may be launched on the Andijan — Samarkand route
In Uzbekistan, it is planned to launch services on the "Andijan — Samarkand" route by extending the service of high-speed electric trains running on the "Tashkent — Andijan" route to Samarkand. This is envisaged in a draft presidential decree.
According to the draft, the new route is scheduled to be established by the end of 2027. It is aimed at developing transport links between the Fergana Valley, Tashkent, Syrdarya, Jizzakh, and Samarkand regions.
In addition, by the end of 2028, it is planned to double the daily electric train services on the Kokand — Pap — Namangan — Andijan — Margilan — Kokand loop route in the Fergana Valley and to launch regular minibus service from the Pap railway station to the Namangan bus station.
Furthermore, it is planned to integrate domestic passenger transport by rail, air, and road by 2030.
In particular, starting from July 2027, a unified transport hub connecting railway stations, the international airport, and the central bus station will be created in the Tashkent agglomeration. The number of suburban electric trains running from Chirchiq, Yangiyul, Angren, and Almalyk will be increased by 1.5 times, and direct transfers to metro stations will be organized.
