Gomel Region and Navoi discussed new projects

The Gomel and Navoi regions of Uzbekistan discussed the development of trade, industrial cooperation, healthcare, and personnel training.

Gomel Region Governor Ivan Krupko of Belarus met with a delegation from Navoi Region of Uzbekistan, led by Khokim Normat Tursunov. During the meeting, the parties discussed expanding interregional cooperation and prospects for joint projects, according to the Gomel Regional Executive Committee.

Also present at the meeting was Yuri Valevaty, Aide to the President of Belarus and Inspector for the Gomel Region.

Uzbekistan is among the top ten trading partners of the Gomel Region. Over the past five years, trade between the regions has tripled. Belarusian exports to Uzbekistan primarily include wood products, meat, dairy, confectionery, plastics, and metal products.

Ivan Krupko emphasized the growing importance of Belarusian-Uzbek interregional cooperation and expressed the Gomel Region's readiness to implement joint projects in the trade, economic, and social spheres. More than 50 enterprises with Uzbek capital are registered in the Gomel Region, primarily operating in the trade and catering sectors.

The parties also identified promising areas for cooperation between the regions, including industry, healthcare, and personnel training.

During their visit, the Navoi Region delegation learned about the industrial and agricultural potential of the Gomel Region. The Uzbek representatives visited the Gomselmash enterprise, where they discussed the need for agricultural machinery and the possibility of purchasing the holding's equipment.

The delegation also visited the Novy Ostrov dairy complex of the Krasnaya Armiya State Unitary Enterprise in the Rogachev District and the Ozerany dairy complex of the Tikhinichi JSC. The guests were presented with experience and best practices in animal husbandry.

Furthermore, the Navoi Region representatives learned about the potential of the Rogachev Dairy Canning Plant. The delegation's further program includes a visit to the memorial complex "Children – Victims of War" in Krasny Bereg, Zhlobin District.
