Germany will direct 71 million euros to initiatives in the areas of economic development, social protection, the rule of law, climate, and energy in Uzbekistan.
This was reported to Podrobno.uz by the German Embassy following the intergovernmental negotiations held on October 7.
The parties agreed to continue their cooperation, which spans more than 30 years. Germany also confirmed its readiness to support the implementation of the "Uzbekistan-2030" strategy and the achievement of the UN Sustainable Development Goals.
Joint projects involve supporting the private sector and trade, modernizing vocational education taking into account the German dual system, developing renewable energy, and expanding electricity transmission networks. Another area is improving the social protection system, including for vulnerable groups of the population.
The KfW Development Bank, the German Society for International Cooperation (GIZ), and the Physikalisch-Technische Bundesanstalt (PTB) are participating in the implementation of the projects on behalf of the Federal Government of Germany.
