Funding of courts in Uzbekistan is not subject to reduction due to budget revenue shortfalls

The law "On Financing the Activities of Judicial Bodies" has come into force in Uzbekistan, defining the procedure for budget support of the judicial system and guarantees of its financial independence.

According to the document, the funding of courts will be carried out solely from the state budget. Expenditures for the activities of the Constitutional Court, the Supreme Court, and the Supreme Judicial Council must be incorporated into the law on the state budget for the corresponding financial year.

The law also provides for the possibility of paying bonuses and one-time material assistance to judges and court staff.
