It is well known that if an egg is placed in a microwave oven, it can crack, and if food is wrapped in foil, the surface of the dish can fly off. The publication "Noviy Ochag" provided information about things that should not be placed in a microwave oven.

**Empty dishes**

Do not leave the microwave oven on if there is nothing inside. Turn it off as soon as you take out a glass or plate. If there are no products inside the microwave oven that can absorb them, the magnetron (actually a microwave generator) will begin to absorb them on its own. In this case, the microwave oven may burn out or deteriorate. Products in the microwave are heated as if we were rubbing our palms together.

**Frozen Meat**

Many housewives try to speed up the subsequent cooking process by heating frozen meat in a microwave. This is dangerous and can lead to the growth of pathogenic bacteria, since the process in a microwave oven is uneven. Microwaves work only on the surface layer, not penetrating deeper than 3 centimeters. The rest of the heat is transferred to the product due to thermal conductivity, that is, the food heats itself.

**Pepper**

If you turn on the microwave at full power, the pepper can explode and burn like an egg. Another problem is the substance capsaicin, which makes the vegetable spicy and hot. Capsaicin turns into an aerosol when heated in a microwave oven, and if you open the microwave door, it acts like a gas canister. Conclusion: if you want to cook something with peppers, it is better to cook them in a gas oven or on a stove.

**Paper bags**

Some restaurants may offer you the idea of reheating a previously purchased bun or sandwich in the microwave, but it is not. Some of these bags can burn under the influence of microwaves.

**Plastic containers**

Plastic containers and microwaves are not a good combination. Many types of plastic contain estrogen-like substances, which can cause damage to some organs. When heated in a microwave, these substances enter the food, and eating such food is harmful to our health. Therefore, it is better to replace plastic containers with glass ones. It is better to use containers mainly for storing food in the refrigerator.

If you turn on the grill mode in the microwave, even heat-resistant containers will not be able to withstand high temperatures.

**Food containers**

The containers often used to package food in restaurants also release harmful chemicals when heated. They are not used to heat food, but to store it for a longer period of time.

**Any tightly closed container**

Glass bottles, cans, food containers, etc. can crack when heated. It is better to pierce products with a peel or skin, such as tomatoes or sausages, before putting them in the oven. If you do this, they will not crack when heated.
