From skydiving to farm holidays. New tourism formats presented in Uzbekistan

New tourist sites and recreation options have been showcased in Uzbekistan — ranging from a complex in Margilan and agritourism in the Parkent district to parachute jumps in the Syrdarya region.

The presentation of the new sites took place at the Tourism Committee. According to the agency, 9.1 million foreign tourists visited Uzbekistan in January–August — 21.1% more than in the same period a year earlier. Tourism services exports during this time reached 4.6 billion dollars, an increase of 53.5%.

One of the new destinations is the "Burhoniddin Marginoniy" scientific, educational, and tourist complex in Margilan. Located on its territory are a minaret, a Great Silk Road bas-relief, the house of Mirzakarim Kutidor, a craft market, a pilaf center, cafes, restaurants, and a hotel. Guests are also invited to learn about traditional crafts — pottery, skullcap making, and other local trades.

Another destination is being developed in the village of Samsarak in the Parkent district. There, countryside recreation has been combined with farming: the territory features an eco-farm, a mini-zoo, a restaurant, a market for local products, and waterfront areas. Visitors can go fishing, try their hand at pottery, and participate in masterclasses.

In the Syrdarya region, tourists are offered a different format — parachuting. The new facility organizes solo and tandem jumps from altitudes of 1.2 thousand, 2.5 thousand, and 3 thousand meters, accompanied by instructors. In addition, photo and video recording of the jumps using action cameras is provided.

According to tour operators, demand for trips to the republic has grown by up to 65% compared to last year.
