Export of cash rubles from Russia to Uzbekistan restricted to over 1 million
New restrictions on the export of cash Russian rubles to Uzbekistan have been introduced in Russia. The corresponding decree was signed by Russian President Vladimir Putin.
According to the document, individuals are prohibited from exporting cash rubles in an amount exceeding 1 million rubles from Russia to Uzbekistan, Azerbaijan, Tajikistan, and the countries of the Eurasian Economic Union.
If the established restriction is violated, the amount exceeding 1 million rubles is subject to seizure.
For legal entities and individual entrepreneurs, the rules are even stricter: they are prohibited from exporting cash Russian rubles to Uzbekistan, Azerbaijan, and Tajikistan, regardless of the amount.
At the same time, the decree provides for a number of exceptions. In particular, individuals will be able to export more than 1 million rubles through international airports designated by the government, provided they have bank documents confirming the withdrawal of the entire exported amount from an account or deposit, or other prescribed documents.
Certain exceptions are established for organizations engaged in international transport, as well as for the export of funds necessary for the operation of Russian diplomatic and consular missions and other foreign representative offices.
The decree entered into force on September 29, 2026.
