The maximum amount of cash currency that individuals leaving Uzbekistan may export without filing a declaration has been increased from the equivalent of 100 million soums to the equivalent of $10,000. A presidential decree mandates submitting a bill to the government by the end of the year.

Uzbekistan is introducing a new rule that will allow individuals to export foreign currency equivalent to up to 10,000 US dollars from the country without declaring it. Declarations will only be required if the amount exceeds this limit.
This change is stipulated by a presidential decree signed on August 27. According to this decree, a corresponding bill must be submitted to the Cabinet of Ministers by the end of this year.
For comparison, the current rule allows individuals to export the equivalent of 100 million soums in cash. Before September 1, 2020, this limit was the equivalent of 2,000 US dollars.
