From November 1, the SBDD will not issue fines for crossing a solid line before intersections and U-turns

In Uzbekistan, a new procedure is being introduced starting November 1: road patrol service inspectors will stop drawing up administrative reports for crossing solid marking lines 1.1 and 1.3 at a certain distance from intersections and U-turn spots. The corresponding Cabinet of Ministers resolution No. 596 was adopted on October 29.

Starting November 1, the Traffic Safety Service will stop fining drivers for crossing a solid line before intersections and U-turns

According to the document, crossing lines 1.1 (single solid) and 1.3 (double solid) will not be considered a violation within 50 meters before an intersection and 20 meters before a U-turn location. As a representative of the Traffic Safety Service explained, this decision is related to practical situations: when approaching an intersection, drivers sometimes are forced to cross the road markings, for example, if another car stalls in the lane. This helped avoid artificial traffic jams.

However, outside these zones, inspectors will continue to issue citations for such violations.

In addition, by the same decree, starting November 1, it is permitted to record instances of failure to wear seat belts using special automated photo and video recording systems installed by entrepreneurs. Such devices must meet technical requirements and ensure the automatic transmission of data to the "Administrative Practice" module.
