Heating and hot water prices may rise in Tashkent from November 1

The Ministry of Construction, Housing and Communal Services has submitted for public discussion a draft project providing for the introduction of new tariffs for centralized heat supply services for the population.

According to the document, it is proposed to approve new rates for Tashkent residents starting November 1 of this year. The fee for central heating should be 314 soums per 1 square meter per day including VAT, hot water by meter — 11,607 soums per 1 cubic meter including VAT, and in the absence of a meter — 45,330 soums per 1 person per month. The tariff for thermal energy is proposed to be set at 206,636 soums per Gcal, and hot water supply for dormitory residents — at 33,720 soums per person per month.

Currently, 1 cubic meter of hot water costs 8,928.7 soums including VAT, without a metering device — 34,868.9 soums per person per month, and heating is calculated at a tariff of 241.4 soums per 1 square meter of heated area per day of the heating period. If the project is adopted, the tariff for thermal energy will rise by almost 48%, and the cost of heating and hot water for capital city consumers will increase by about 30%. Public discussion of the document will last until October 28.
