Foreign Cars for Entry

Citizens of Uzbekistan are planned to be allowed to temporarily import vehicles registered in other countries for non-commercial purposes, subject to the payment of established customs duties. The government is required to develop the corresponding procedure by December 2027.

This measure is envisaged by a decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan dated August 27. The government has been instructed to prepare a draft law that will define the conditions and procedure for the temporary import of such vehicles.

Currently, only foreign individuals are allowed to temporarily import vehicles registered abroad into Uzbekistan for non-commercial use. A car can remain in the country without the payment of customs duties for up to 90 calendar days within a year. Current legislation does not provide such an option for citizens of Uzbekistan.
