Five new gas fields have been discovered in Uzbekistan since the beginning of the year

President Shavkat Mirziyoyev has reviewed plans for the development of the oil and gas industry. The presentation outlined the results of geological exploration and gas production.

Since the beginning of the year, 80 wells have been drilled in the regions, including deep ones. Some of them reach depths of 6,000 meters or more. There are plans to drill another 40 wells by the end of the year.

The volume of 3D seismic exploration is set to increase fivefold this year. The main focus will be on the deep-seated strata of Ustyurt and the development of new fields.

The issue of developing the gas transmission system was considered separately. The construction of new gas pipelines and the modernization of compressor stations will save up to 125 million cubic meters of gas per year.

The plant's capacity utilization is planned to increase from 40% to 65% by the end of the year.

The President instructed to increase the efficiency of geological exploration and drilling. In addition, the head of state ordered to secure financing for major projects and to improve the efficiency of enterprises in the sector.

Earlier, a new gas condensate field, Karatauskoye, was discovered on the Ustyurt plateau in the Muynak district. Specialists obtained the first industrial flow of gas and condensate. By the end of the year, they plan to complete the drilling of a second exploration well and begin work on two more wells.
