Uzbekneftegaz plans to increase gas production in August and September

Uzbekneftegaz Joint Stock Company has declared August and September to be months dedicated to increasing natural gas production. These goals were set during a regular working meeting chaired by company CEO Aziz Sanginov, according to Uzbekneftegaz JSC.

The meeting discussed issues related to increasing production volumes, efficient field utilization, modernizing production infrastructure, and improving working conditions for employees.

Company management instructed to elevate field operations to a qualitatively new level, improve the reliability of power supply to production facilities, upgrade transformer equipment, replace insulators, and ensure the uninterrupted operation of gas piston power plants.

Particular attention was paid to implementing the action plan to increase gas production in August. The planned work was analyzed in detail for each ten-day period, as well as for individual fields and wells.

As noted at the meeting, 27 new wells are scheduled to be commissioned in August.

The company was also instructed to improve the efficiency of existing well utilisation, expedite major and routine workovers, clearly delineate areas of responsibility, and, in collaboration with Chinese scientific institutes, improve well repair technologies.

Furthermore, based on an analysis of the shortcomings in the implementation of the 2026 targeted and investment programs, instructions were given to begin preparing programs for 2027 immediately. Priority areas include improving design work, accelerating 3D seismic exploration, developing a geological exploration program, ensuring timely project implementation at new blocks, preventing construction delays, and strengthening logistical support.

To ensure drilling operations are completed on schedule, the company was instructed to expedite the delivery of imported equipment, prepare the necessary road and utility infrastructure in advance, and attract additional equipment. Following the meeting, it was emphasized that the introduction of modern technologies, the expanded use of automated control systems, the efficient operation of modern equipment, and the continued improvement of production efficiency remain the company's key priorities.

Working conditions at production facilities in the Ustyurt region were also discussed, as they were deemed unsatisfactory. Management instructed that dormitories be overhauled, workers be provided with protective clothing, and living conditions be brought into line with modern requirements.

Specifically, a new dormitory in Ustyurt is scheduled to be commissioned by August 25, and dormitories at the Kokdumalak, Pamuk, and Alan fields are to be completely renovated by the end of the year.

The meeting also set the objective of ensuring high-quality preparation by all company divisions for the celebration of the 35th anniversary of Uzbekistan's independence. Natural gas production in Uzbekistan for January-June 2026 amounted to 18.3 billion cubic meters, a 16.4% decrease compared to 21.9 billion cubic meters for the same period in 2025.
