FIDE rating updated: Nodirbek Abdusattorov rises, Javohir Sindorov retains his place

The International Chess Federation (FIDE) has announced the rating of the world's strongest chess players as of August 2026. The updated list shows a number of changes in the positions and points of Uzbekistan's representatives from the previous month.

Norwegian Magnus Carlsen retained first place in the list with 2823 points. Hikaru Nakamura of the United States took second place with 2792 points (he was in 3rd place last month). His compatriot Fabiano Caruana fell from 2nd to 3rd place due to a decrease in his points (from 2792 to 2789).

Uzbekistan's number one chess player Javohir Sindorov increased his points from 2777 to 2778, maintaining his 4th place in the world ranking. While Nodirbek Abdusattorov's points remained unchanged (2762), he moved up from 8th to 7th place in the overall list.

The performance of other chess players in the top 100 has changed as follows compared to last month:

Nodirbek Yakubboev — 2685 points (both points and 39th place remained unchanged);

Rustam Qosimjonov — 2665 points (no points, but moved up from 52nd to 48th place);

Shamsiddin Vohidov — 2654 points (last month 2655 points, unchanged — 61st place).

Women's rating and federations' index

In the women's Top-100 list, Afruza Hamdamova increased her points from 2440 to 2443 and remained in 26th place. Gulruhbegim Tohirjonova increased her points from 2355 to 2357 points, moving up from 82nd to 80th place.

In the overall federations' rating, the Uzbekistan national team is ranked 6th in the world with 2628 points. The first three places in this list are occupied by the USA (2725 points), India (2705 points) and China (2664 points).
