Ferghana Region and Rosatom Explore Nuclear and Advanced Technologies

The Ferghana regional administration announced that discussions have taken place between the Ferghana region and Russia's Rosatom concerning the application of nuclear and other cutting-edge technologies, alongside potential collaborative investment ventures.

On August 19, 2026, Ferghana region Hokim Khairullo Bozorov hosted a delegation headed by Alexey Dremuchev, who serves as the general director for the Rosatom Central Asia regional center.

The dialogue centered on fostering mutually beneficial cooperation, executing promising investment projects, and localizing manufacturing. Rosatom provided insights into its operations across various sectors, such as nuclear energy, mechanical engineering, nuclear medicine, digital technologies, and the creation of advanced new materials.

Attendees acknowledged Uzbekistan's conducive investment environment and substantial industrial capacity, particularly within the Ferghana region.

Opportunities were explored for initiating a pilot project in the medical field, as well as joint undertakings in the fuel and energy sector, energy storage, manufacturing of composite materials, workforce development, and transport and logistics.

The regional hokim expressed his commitment to backing mutually beneficial endeavors and joint projects.

The meeting concluded with an agreement to formulate a roadmap outlining key areas for cooperation and the execution of joint projects.
