The Farmers' Council has appealed to the Prosecutor's Office requesting a legal evaluation of the actions of Muzaffar Aripov, the governor of Piskent district, who told farmers that he would "tear their souls out." The Business Ombudsman also stated that the situation has been taken under control and a legal evaluation will be provided.

The Farmers' Council, the Business Ombudsman, and the khokimiyat itself responded to the actions taken by Muzaffar Aripov, the khokim of the Piskent district of the Tashkent region, against farmers. While the Farmers' Council and the Business Ombudsman support the farmers, the khokimiyat is defending the khokim.

The Farmers' Council appealed to the prosecutor's office asking for a legal evaluation of Muzaffar Aripov's actions.

The Council stated that nothing can serve as a basis for humiliating human honor and dignity.

“Such cases are seen as an unlawful interference in the activities of a business entity and may have a negative impact on the country's international image. Therefore, on October 9, 2026, the Council of Farmers of Uzbekistan appealed to the prosecutorial authorities requesting practical assistance in giving a legal assessment to the actions of the khokim of Piskent district,” the report says.

The Business Ombudsman also reacted to the situation, recalling that the honor and dignity of an entrepreneur are under the protection of the law.

“Intentional humiliation of a person's honor and dignity, that is, insult, entails liability in accordance with the law. The situation has been taken under control by the Business Ombudsman. A legal evaluation will be provided on this matter,” the statement emphasized.

In addition, the Business Ombudsman added that if entrepreneurs and farmers consider that their honor and dignity have been humiliated, insulted, or their rights violated, they can contact via the short number 1100 or the phone number +998712020898.

The khokimiyat of Piskent district blamed the farmers themselves in its official statement.

Drawing attention to the fact that “land is not the farmer's private property,” the khokimiyat emphasized that “if potatoes are not planted and prices in the market rise, those who suffer will again be themselves.”
