"Europe provides customs benefits up to zero for more than 6,000 Uzbek products" — Head of "Uzbekexpertiza"

According to the head of “Uzbekexpertiza”, Europe provides customs preferences up to zero for more than 6 thousand products of Uzbekistan.

Umidjon Azamkhodjayev, General Director of “Uzbekexpertiza” JSC, stated that Europe provides customs preferences up to zero for more than six thousand products of Uzbekistan.

According to the official of the organization, more than 1,600 enterprises in Uzbekistan have registered in the REX system and are exporting their products to European markets on the basis of preferential duties. These trades are carried out within the framework of the “GSP+” program.

“The provision of the “GSP+” special trade regime, that is, the special trade regime, to our country by the European Union indicates the high recognition of Uzbekistan in the international arena. We issue certificates of origin to products manufactured in the republic. Within the framework of the special trade regime, customs preferences up to zero for more than six thousand products of the country are provided,” said the head of the organization.

In 2025, Uzbekistan exported goods and services worth $2.3 billion to Europe. In the first half of this year, this figure exceeded $1.1 billion. The term of use of “GSP+” for the country is set until December 31, 2027.

“Uzbekekspertiza” Joint-Stock Company is engaged in certification and examination of goods produced in Uzbekistan. It also registers exporters in the REX system of the European Union.

The “GSP+” program is a set of preferences granted to the export of agricultural goods and certain other products from developing countries to the markets of the European Union. A member state of the program is allowed to export about three thousand goods duty-free and 3,200 types of products at reduced rates. Uzbekistan was admitted to the “GSP+” program in April 2021. Since then, the country has been granted customs privileges for the export of 6,200 types of products. It is reported that the export composition includes textiles, chemicals, agricultural and food products.

REX is a system for registering exporters in order to confirm the preferential origin of goods within the framework of the “GSP+ program”. During the process, the exporter submits an application and information about his commercial activities. Registration in the REX system simplifies export formalities, reduces customs costs and allows you to earn more.
