It must be processed in the QazETA application at least 72 hours prior to the trip. We explain who is exempt from the ETA, how to obtain it, and the rules for staying in Kazakhstan.

Entry rules to Kazakhstan for Uzbek citizens: who will need an ETA and how to obtain it?
No, Uzbek citizens do not need a visa to travel to Kazakhstan. An agreement on mutual trips of citizens operates between the two countries, providing for visa-free entry.
The introduction of the ETA does not cancel the visa-free regime. It is an additional electronic authorization that must be issued prior to the trip. It does not replace a passport and does not guarantee entry into the country: the final decision is made by the border authorities of Kazakhstan.
Starting from July 1, 2027, Uzbek citizens will need to obtain an ETA to enter Kazakhstan, except for categories of travel exempt from obtaining the permit.
In accordance with the new rules, the system will be implemented in phases:
● November 1, 2026 - Aktau airport and four road checkpoints.
● January 1, 2027 - Astana and Almaty airports.
● March 1, 2027 - remaining checkpoints.
● July 1, 2027 - ETA becomes mandatory for travelers subject to the new requirements.
A transition period will apply until June 30, 2027. During this time, the ETA can be issued in advance, but the absence of the permit will not be grounds for refusal of entry into the country, even at checkpoints where the system is already launched.
An ETA is not required for children under 16 years of age, persons aged 65 and older, as well as certain other categories of tourists.
The following persons are also exempt from obtaining the permit:
Foreign citizens holding a valid visa of Kazakhstan;
Foreign citizens holding a temporary or permanent residence permit in Kazakhstan;
