Drunk driver caught while giving bribe

Instead of drawing conclusions from the offense committed by the driver I.Yu., he was looking for a way to get rid of it.

A drunk driver was caught when he offered a bribe of 10 million soums to a traffic police officer.

A Chevrolet Cobalt car driving on one of the central streets of Bukhara caught the attention of a traffic police inspector. The car was stopped and checked, and it was found that the driver was drunk. As a result, an administrative report was drawn up under Part 1 of Article 131 of the Code of the Republic of Uzbekistan on Administrative Responsibility (Driving Vehicles While intoxicated) and the car was placed in a penalty area.

Murodjon Rahmatullayev, a senior officer of the Bukhara Regional Department of Internal Affairs, told Khabar.uz that instead of drawing the right conclusion from the offense committed by the driver I.Yu. He offered the traffic police officer a bribe of 10 million soums in exchange for not taking legal action against him and removing his car from the penalty area.

Despite the fact that the traffic police officer warned I.Yu. several times, the citizen did not give up his offer to "close" his case.

After that, the traffic police officer was forced to file an appropriate complaint regarding this case. An urgent action was taken in this case in cooperation with the employees of the Bukhara Regional Department of the Main Department of Personal Security of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Bukhara City Department of the Department under the Prosecutor General's Office.

During the action, the citizen was caught red-handed while giving the agreed amount of 9 million 950 thousand soums as a bribe to the officer in the penalty area.

Currently, a criminal case has been initiated against the citizen under Part 1 of Article 211 (Bribery) of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Uzbekistan. Initial investigations are underway.
