Drones shot down in Moscow skies overnight
From the evening of August 17 to the morning of August 18, more than 180 drones were destroyed in the Moscow region. According to Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin, a total of 620 drones flew towards the Moscow region during the night. The attacks injured several people, damaged some facilities, and temporarily restricted flights at Moscow airports.

Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin announced via Telegram early on August 18 that more than 180 drones were destroyed in the Moscow region from the evening of Monday, August 17 to 05:00 on Tuesday, August 18.
According to him, a total of 620 drones flew towards the Moscow region during this time. Sobyanin did not provide information on which objects the drones may have targeted.
Meanwhile, the Telegram channel "Ostorozhno, novosti" reported, citing its readers, that during the night numerous explosions were heard in the Noginsk, Zheleznodorozhny and Elektrostal regions of the Moscow region. It is also said that a large number of drones were observed in the Pavlovsky Posad area.
Moscow Region Governor Andrei Vorobyov said that a 10-year-old girl suffered a shrapnel wound to her arm when a drone crashed into a private house in Ramenskoye District. She was hospitalized.
A woman was provided with medical care in Bogorodsky District. A 27-year-old man was injured in Kolomna.
In Kolomna, a fire broke out in a shopping pavilion near the Globus shopping center as a result of the crash of a drone. In addition, a drone was reported to have crashed into a Wildberries warehouse located in the Atlant-Park area of the Bogorodsky District of the Moscow Region.
In the wake of the attack, restrictions were also imposed on the activities of Moscow airports. The Russian Federal Aviation Agency - Rosaviatsia - announced that temporary restrictions had been imposed on the reception and take-off of aircraft at Vnukovo, Domodedovo and Zhukovsky airports.
Restrictions have also been imposed on the use of airspace around Sheremetyevo Airport. However, the airport continued to receive and depart flights in coordination with the relevant authorities.
The Ukrainian monitoring Telegram channel Exilenova+ has also released videos that allegedly show drone strikes and air defense systems operating in the Moscow region.
According to some videos and reports, the "Dyuna" residential complex in the city of Kotelniki, Moscow region, may have also been damaged in the attack. The residential complex is located about five kilometers east of the Moscow Oil Refinery.
The Moscow Oil Refinery has been one of the targets of Ukrainian drone attacks several times in recent times. The Telegram channel "Ostorozhno, Novosti" also reported that explosions were heard in the Kotelniki area.
There has been no confirmed information yet about damage to the Moscow Oil Refinery itself.
